We collect almost nothing
- No accounts. Nothing to sign up for; no email, no profile.
- No tracking cookies. No analytics or advertising cookies are set.
- Your garage lives in your browser (localStorage) and never leaves your device unless you share its URL.
- Plate lookups are sent to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service to identify the vehicle; we cache the vehicle's identity (make, colour, tax/MOT status) for 7 days to limit repeat queries. We do not log who asked.
- Server logs record requests (path, timestamp) for security and capacity planning, retained ≤30 days. Raw IP addresses are not retained in analytics.
- Aggregate analytics: we count daily page views, coarse
visitor buckets (a one-way hash that rotates daily and is truncated
— it cannot identify anyone and changes every day), appraisals,
plate-lookup volumes, referrer domains and normalised route shapes
(e.g.
/car,/models/{slug}— never the full URL or query string). We never store IP addresses, user-agent strings, session identifiers, or plate-plus-timestamp combinations.
Your rights
Because we hold no identifiable profile of you, there is typically nothing to access, correct or erase. To query anything else, use the contact on the Data & takedown page. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
